High-Conflict Divorce Evaluations

Divorce at best, is a very difficult process for most families to navigate through. When the divorce is “high conflict” it can feel more like being in a “war” than being in a legal process. Individuals frequently feel the need to “arm” themselves and defend their ground. Every motion is seen as an attack that must be met with a counterattack. And far too often the “collateral damage” are the children who were caught in the crossfire. We provide High Conflict Divorce Evaluations that are independent and neutral and that take into account both parents strengths and weaknesses, abilities, and personalities, as well as the children’s developmental needs and personalities, and analyze how these characteristics interplay and impact the lives of the children.

INDIVIDUALS

Psychological Autopsies (Equivocal Death Analysis)

Medical Examiners sometimes feel pressure to provide a mode of death and do their best to provide a determination even if that means basing that determination on the frequently limited data they have provided to them. This is particularly true if the data suggest that the death was either an accident or suicide. If a loved one’s death is listed as “undetermined” or determined to be a suicide, friends and family are often left completely confounded, and with profound doubts about the investigation that led to this conclusion. We provide Psychological Autopsies that investigate all aspects of the individual’s life, both physically and psychologically, and provide an opinion as to the mode of death that is based on an in depth and thorough investigation. Medical examiners have used this new information to review former cases and change the mode of death if they feel it is warranted. Life insurance companies have also used the opinion rendered in a psychological autopsy to determine or review benefits provided to survivors.

Stalking

Stalking is an egregious crime that is frequently difficult to prove. Victims often feel terrorized and in a constant state of fear and panic. Individuals who are the victims of stalking commonly find themselves navigating uncharted territory looking for solutions. Our experts in stalking can help provide you with much needed answers.

Independent Investigations

When a loved one is accused of a crime, or is victim of a crime, families are often left with significant questions. We conduct independent investigations as an investigative team comprised of senior forensic psychologists and elite law enforcement, reviewing and following up on all known information and generating new leads if warranted.

Trial/Case Consultation

Doing your homework PRIOR to going to trial is essential in recognizing the strengths and weaknesses of your case. We have successfully consulted on criminal, tort, and family court trials providing the following services (to very happy and appreciative clients):

Independent Medical Examinations (IME)

Our in-house doctors provide independent assessment and diagnosis of mental health issues. We back up our findings with real-world data that goes beyond psychological testing and self-reported information.

Psychological Fitness for Duty Examinations (FFD)

A psychological fitness for duty evaluation is conducted to determine if an individual is able to safely and effectively perform the duties outlined in their job description, and if not, are the reasons for the inability to perform these duties psychologically-based.
